Circulation Services

Whether you're looking for something specific or just want a recommendation, come by our circulation desk! The library staff can assist you with nearly any question about the library and our collection.

The Library's Collection

The library collection contains over 8,000 items. We are constantly adding new materials, so feel free to come check them out! We have non-fiction and fiction books in many genres, and a special corner for children's books. Not a reader? We also have over 700 DVDs to choose from!

If you're looking for something local, we have a special section of Texas reference books available. Additionally, we have the Rosebud News from 1904 to 2010 available on microfilm.

Something unique to our library is our complete collection of National Geographic magazines spanning from 1943 to 2013. Come by the library to look through them!

Reference Assistance

If you are researching something specific, come by the circulation desk and we can assist you with finding materials or using the public computers. Additionally, library patrons get access to the TexShare Database, where you can find homework help, health or business information, academic journals, popular magazines, genealogy, or job and career development. Library staff can assist you with logging into the database and navigating through it.

Youth Services

Children and youth are welcome in the library, and we have plenty of young adult and easy reader books to choose from. Additionally, we have four computers available for anyone under 18 (please refer to our internet policies here). We hope to soon have a separate section for children's movies and to begin programs geared towards children, so stay tuned!

Please note children 11 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult while in the library.

Outreach Activities

D Brown Memorial Library in Rosebud is pleased to announce our new partnership with Rosebud-Lott Elementary School Library for the school year 2019-2020.  Mrs. Williams (who currently works at D Brown Library) leads this new library/school outreach program.  She goes to RLES once a week to assist children on a one-to-one basis to encourage and enrich reading skills in the library.  Mrs. Williams has a long history of working with children at the Rosebud Primary School (35 years primarily in the school library), and she is no stranger to schools and libraries!  With this new library/school outreach program, she enriches the lives of elementary school children from Pre-K thru Third Grade by encouraging and modeling a great love for reading.
